15April2007: This week the ‘normal’ view of The Blot was ‘enchanced’ by a countless number of bins/skips, a heavy lift crane, and a very large articulated lorry trailer. If it wasn’t for the over rated (by the Council), none descript, ineffectrive tree screening programme we (residents) would have missed out on this fascinating view of the rear Service Area of an industrial laundry.

By request of several residents Councillors have been asked to provide an evaluation of the screening project, and whether it should be improved/enlarged. A request has also been submitted as to obtaining the ‘Conditions’ to be imposed re the extension granted for a Soiled Laundry Bay.

A lot of good words and ideas were expressed by Councillors, at the Planning Committee Meeting concerning this extension. It is very much hoped that these ideas for landscaping and tree planting to enable screening of the extension, will not be watered down by the planning officers under some ‘Whitehall directive’ as has been their wont previously.

27Sep06: During the last few days, a number of people have been seen photographing The Blot- apparently, due to the recent publicity, their attention has been drawn to the incredulity of it – and they were sending the photographs to points wide, to friends and relations, to show just what has been inflicted on residents and a green valley with no valid excuse or reason.
Dramatic photography -yes. ??Planning?? – NO !
